Dr. Rocky Ramsey

Dr. Rocky Ramsey has been the Senior Pastor of Corryton Church outside of Knoxville, Tennessee since 1984. Corryton Church has provided free retreats to missionaries in Europe, Africa, Central America, South America, and Southeast Asia. The church has given Christmas to over a thousand families in Tennessee, Virginia, and Kentucky over the past twenty years. They regularly provide food for under-resourced people in their area and to families who live at (and eat out of) the Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe dumpsite/landfill. Out of 47,000 SBC churches, Corryton ranks in the top 200 in giving to the international and North American mission offerings.

Under Rocky’s leadership, Corryton Church has expanded its campus by over fifty acres, built a park and soccer fields, and completed millions of dollars of additions and renovations. In 2013, the church acquired Wafloy Mountain Village, a 75-acre Christian retreat center outside of Gatlinburg, Tennessee adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The church has completed of two million dollars of improvements and operates this retreat center that is used by churches from Florida to Michigan.

Rocky’s messages are broadcast weekly on the church’s “Growing for Life” programs. He can be heard five days a week on local radio (WRJZ, Joy 620) and seen once a week on East Tennessee television (MyVLT).

Rocky has been married to his wife (Betsy) since 1980. They have two married daughters and four grandchildren. Rocky has a business degree from the University of Tennessee, a Master of Divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Luther Rice Seminary.
